Jack de Saram is a Dubai-based therapist, speaker and former stand-up comedian. He trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy at Goldsmiths, University of London, where his master’s research on the therapeutic benefits of humour gained a distinction. He’s a registered member of the BACP, licensed by the CDA, and works with adults and adolescents.

Laughing Freud brings that work into the workplace: talks and workshops that show how we can bring more humour and levity to everyday challenges, and frame them in a more manageable way.

The Approach

The levity perspective

Research suggests that humour gives us perspective, putting more distance between us and whatever we’re finding difficult. By cultivating that perspective, we’re not trying to make things funny. We’re making room to notice the funny that’s already there.

Grounded in psychology

Everything draws on established therapeutic thinking and years of clinical practice. Workshops and talks equip participants with real tools they can use in their own lives to unlock their own sense of levity.

Adaptable

The content adapts to the room. That could be corporate teams and leadership groups, school staff, or sixth-form students preparing for the pressures ahead. Sessions can run as a short talk or a longer interactive workshop, in person across Dubai or online, and are shaped around what your group is actually dealing with.
